SEVILLA, 21 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Councillor for Culture and Tourism of the City Council of Seville, Angie Moreno, announced this Tuesday that the city will have for the first time a direct air connection with Istanbul (Turkey).
“The new air route between Seville and Istanbul will begin operating on September 24 via the Turkish company Pegasus Airlines to Sabiha Gökçen International Airport and a frequency of three times a week, specifically on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.”
“With this direct air connection between Seville and Istanbul, a historic demand of the sector is fulfilled, which sees its expectations of connecting the West with the East through the capital of Turkey and its international hub fulfilled, thus allowing Sevillians to fly directly both for leisure and business with this ancient capital,” said the councillor.
On the other hand, Angie Moreno has stated that “Seville City Council has been working for months to make this direct connection, which will become a reality starting next month, as it is a historic demand of the sector and in order to reach this agreement it has worked hand in hand with the Tourism Department of the Regional Government of Andalusia.”
Finally, Moreno stressed that “Mayor Sanz’s government continues to take firm steps to position Seville and its airport as the international benchmark for southern Europe,” leaving the old aspiration of having a direct flight to the United States pending.
