Fierce duel Sevilla vs Barcelona should be available this weekend at LaLiga. However, the international break delayed the match.
Sevilla vs Barcelona is one of the matches of the fourth week of LaLiga 2021/2022. Los Rojiblancos will host the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday (11/9/2021) evening local time or Sunday morning WIB.
Unfortunately the scheduling of the match was only 1.5 days after the completion of the match CONMEBOL zone 2022 World Cup qualification, Thursday (9/9) evening local time or Friday (10/9) morning WIB.
That means the Barcelona and Sevilla players who appeared in that match did not have enough rest. Because it takes a long time to fly from South America to Spain.
Actually, there were no Barcelona players who appeared in the qualifier, but Sevilla had three Argentine players, namely Gonzalo Montiel, Marcos Acuna, and Papu Gomez.
In addition, there is also Villarreal who has several Latin American players who have to play a few hours before Sevilla vs Barcelona.
Therefore LaLiga through president Javier Tebas had asked the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to postpone the match. Moreover, Villarreal and Barcelona still have to play in the Champions League next Tuesday.
The request was rejected by the RFEF because they thought it was not a big problem that caused the match to be postponed. LaLiga has appealed to Spain’s National Court of Sport (CSD).
Quoted by ESPN, CSD granted LaLiga’s request to postpone the Sevilla vs Barcelona and Villarreal vs Alaves duels. Now the RFEF is asked to answer the CSD’s decision and find the best time for a new schedule change.
