Precipitation, thunderstorms and “moderate to strong” wind gusts could affect 11 of the 17 departments of Paraguay in the next few hours, according to the Meteorology Directorate.

This Sunday, shortly before 4:00 p.m., the Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology issued a new alert bulletin announcing possible “severe weather phenomena” that could affect a large part of the Eastern Region and central and eastern Chaco in the hours of today’s afternoon and evening.
“Storm cores continue to develop over the coverage area, so the occasional occurrence of severe weather phenomena is not ruled out,” the notice indicates.

Rain with thunderstorms and “moderate to strong” wind gusts are expected.
The affected areas
The affected departments would be Concepcion, San Pedro, Guaira, Caaguazú, Caazapa, Itapua, Upper Parana, Amambay, Canindeyú, Presidente Hayes and the north and east of Upper Paraguay.
According to the extended forecast of the Meteorological Directorate, rains and storms could continue at least until Tuesday.
