Severe Storms Threaten Lower Saxony: Updates from German Weather Service (DWD)

After a few sunny days in Lower Saxony, it will be uncomfortable again for the weekend. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), severe weather is already threatening.

Already in the morning there were stormy rain showers in the Osnabrück area. There was therefore a risk of aquaplaning on the A33. According to the Osnabrück police, the large amounts of water on the road in the Fledder area and at the Osnabrück Süd intersection can only drain slowly.

DWD: Storms threaten west of the Weser

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there may be further storms during the day. Accordingly, thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected, especially in the afternoon. Areas west of the Weser and the Weser Uplands are particularly affected. There may be isolated stormy gusts on the North Sea. The wind decreases during the day. The maximum temperatures are between 16 and 21 degrees.

Rain and thunderstorms: This is what the weather will be like on Saturday

According to the DWD, it will initially remain overcast and cloudy on Saturday. In the course of the day the rain moves eastwards, the clouds loosen up. Thunderstorms are possible later in the extreme south-west and south. Maximum temperatures of up to 17 degrees are possible on Norderney, and up to 20 degrees on the border with North Rhine-Westphalia.
