Several traders draw up a first positive assessment of the reopening of their shop in Montluçon

A simple city tour is enough to see it: customers have returned to the Montluçonnais stores since the deconfinement.

Reopened since May 12, the store specializing in the sale of hunting and fishing articles, Au nénuphar, in the Saint-Jaques area, is currently seeing its activity double. To cope, the usual team, made up of three employees, was reinforced by a cashier hired until the end of May.

“People were confined for two months. They were waiting for an exit from containment to return to the fishing grounds “

And since mid-May, Guillaume Lidéo has been welcoming not only regulars but also new customers wishing to start fishing. Their baskets are also more substantial, thanks to certain savings made during confinement.

Sometimes larger baskets

“They invest in fishing rods and other products. At the moment, we also welcome two clienteles at the same time: the one who usually comes for the opening of trout in March, and the one who comes in June for the predator. We’re also doing club shooting and there’s going to be an approach that will start on June 1st. “

In terms of clothing, customers are also back at Gémo, “and it works pretty well,” says Virginie Michaud, sales manager. Here, the changing rooms were condemned and the terms of exchanges and reimbursements extended to sixty days. Hand cleaning, which is compulsory, is well established.

Both customers and the weather are there. The weather was very nice and the children grew up. We felt it the first week of reopening, the children’s department generated more sales. By the second week, people have resumed their habits; many told us that it felt good to come out

Baskets are also more important than usual.

Sandrine Bichard-Rita, the manager of Shirley boutique in Ville-Gozet, remains a little more cautious, with a “jagged” activity. During the confinement, we made a lot of shipments that allowed us to work despite the closure. Currently, it all depends on the day, but you can feel that the customers want to have fun ”.Les Bougies de Charroux opened in their new premises on Boulevard de Courtais on Saturday May 16 (photo Florian Salesse)

The Shops of Charroux have moved

A pleasure that can also go through a candle, as the Bougies de Charroux team notes. First present on Montluçon via their atypical van then in their shop at 39 rue Grande, they are now installed at 14 boulevard de Courtais, since Saturday May 16.

Resumption of activity: where are the factories in the Montluçon basin (Allier)?

In addition to having gained visibility, the team has gained in volume with now some 200 square meters available for sales space, stocks … “We offer more than a hundred perfumes, and will then offer more fragrances and limited editions, ”says Laura Mionet, manager.

Since the reopening, customers have flocked again. The team had to adapt their schedules, opening at 10:30 am after half an hour of first disinfection renewed during the lunch break.
