A person was arrested near the Fields shopping center in Copenhagen. It is unclear whether the person has a role in the shooting.

He will not say how many died. The shooting is said to have taken place in several places in the shopping center.

The police will not say whether the man was known to the police before, or what weapon he has used.

VG has spoken to several people on the spot who say they have heard shots. Read what they say here.

Thomassen emphasizes that what he says is “associated with a certain amount of uncertainty”.

– I can not say here and now what motive it is about.

When asked if the incident is being investigated as a possible terror, the police inspector answers the following:

– We are investigating it as an incident we can not deny is terror.

– We gather all our strengths

Thomassen asks the public to tip the police if they have observed or heard anything that may be related to the case.

– We are massively present throughout Copenhagen, he says.

– We gather all our forces, including those in Zealand and Jutland, so that we have a lot of crew and become visible in Copenhagen. We will scale up as there is a need for it.

– We must be absolutely sure that we are in control of the situation. Until we know for sure that there was only one perpetrator, then we drive on, he says.

The police inspector is asked whether the police have been informed that something like this could happen, but he answers that it is too early to say anything about it now.
