“The situation eventually became really unsafe,” Depoorter continues. “Ultimately, a number of supporters without tickets got in, which meant that supporters with tickets were no longer allowed in. There is only room for 1,500 visitors, full is full, no matter how unfortunate it is for those supporters.”
Reporter Ann De Bie then saw disgruntled, angry supporters. Some of the Greek supporters took shuttle buses back to the city center of Bruges, while others lingered near the stadium to follow the match on their smartphones.
