Several police officers injured during operations

Several police officers were injured during operations in Berlin on Friday night. Two officers suffered minor injuries during a house search on Blumberger Damm in Marzahn, the police said on Friday. A 48-year-old did not want to let the police into his apartment. When the two officers tried to arrest the drunk, all three were injured. The emergency services were on duty in the apartment after the man and his wife complained about noise in a neighboring shelter for refugees. The man reportedly said that he had a gun that he would use against the residents. An air rifle was confiscated during the search.

In Berlin-Mitte, a police officer broke his hand in an attack in front of an accommodation for the homeless on Auguststrasse. The 34-year-old attacker was expelled from the accommodation after an argument. In front of the accommodation, the drunk tried to hit one of the alerted police officers – but the latter fended off the blow. The 34-year-old fell. When the police tried to help him up, the man attacked the officers again, injuring his hand. The attacker was arrested. An alcohol test showed 2.6 per mille breath alcohol.

A policewoman and a policeman were injured in an amusement arcade in Pankow. The emergency services were called to the restaurant in Mühlenstrasse because a man was supposed to have rioted there and attacked employees, the police said. Accordingly, the 40-year-old should have stabbed the injured policewoman with his knee in the stomach when he was arrested. The policeman sustained a knee injury. Both could not continue their service. The alleged rioter was slightly injured. He came to a clinic for psychological care. Because he was believed to be under the influence of drugs, blood was drawn from him.
