YOUR preseason MotoGP 2022 from Mandalika Circuit completed on Sunday 13 February 2022. However, several MotoGP riders complained about the dirty condition of the Mandalika Circuit, especially on the first day, Friday 11 February 2022.
However, national racer Rifat Sungkar defended the Mandalika Circuit for these criticisms. According to him, the dirty condition of the Mandalika Circuit is reasonable because this is a new track that still needs time to form an ecosystem on the track.
As is known, the Mandalika Circuit has just been completed. Even so, in November last year, the Mandalika Circuit successfully hosted the 2021 World Superbike (WSBK) closing race.
However, the greater spotlight was focused on the Mandalika Circuit hosting the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test. How could I not, MotoGP is the most elite class in the world of motorcycle racing.
Many parties hope that the Mandalika Circuit can give a positive impression to the MotoGP racers who are tasting the 4.31 km track for the first time. MotoGP riders do like the Mandalika Circuit, but they also have their critics.
The criticism is related to the cleanliness of the track. Because, on the first day of the test, the MotoGP racers complained about the track conditions which were full of dust and small stones. For your information, this track is dirty because it rained all night at the Mandalika Circuit.
The first day of the test was also temporarily stopped in order to clear the track first. After cleaning, the first day’s test was continued to completion. On the second and third day of the test, the track conditions were much better.
