A road accident occurred shortly before midnight in the area of ​​St. Johann im Pongau. A taxi driver lost control of her minibus on a slushy road. Seven people were injured.

Shortly before midnight, on November 22, 2024, there was a serious traffic accident on Salzachtal Strasse in the district of St. Johann im Pongau. A taxi minibus driver slipped on the slush covered road. The vehicle hit the guardrail, slid down a small embankment and eventually came to a stop in a nearby meadow.

Injured people taken to hospital

According to initial information from the emergency services, seven passengers – not including the driver – were injured in the accident. After initial on-site medical care by the Red Cross and an emergency doctor, the injured were taken to the Cardinal Schwarzenberg Clinic. The minibus was badly damaged and had to be rescued by the Werden and Pfarrwerfen fire departments. The cleaning operation was carried out without any disruption to traffic. A breathalyzer test performed on the driver showed that she was not under the influence of alcohol.
