– The rear two seats in one of the carriages are broken by the rest of the carriage and hang down under the carriage, says director of the amusement park, Henrik Ragborg Carlsen, to the local newspaper Århus Stiftstidende.

To Extra Bladet Carlsen says that the two were seriously injured and sent to hospital.

EMPTY FOR VISITORS: The guests at Tivoli Friheden were asked to leave the amusement park after the accident.

Christensen told VG at 13.54 that it is one of the carriages in the Cobra that has torn itself loose, and that several visitors were then trapped. They do not know the reason why the carriage came loose.

Jyllands-Posten writes that the carriages in the carousel were stopped between two and three meters above the ground, and that the fire brigade is working to get the other passengers safely down.

Dansk TV 2’s reporter states that all visitors to the park have been asked to leave Tivoli Friheden. He says that he heard a crash, and then saw that a carriage in the Cobra had torn loose.

Must investigate

Just before 2.30 pm, Tivoli Friheden signs on Facebook that they have gathered the injured relatives who were in the park, as well as all the guests who sat in the roller coaster.

– We offer psychological help to those who need it, they write.

Tivoli Friheden further writes that they do not have a full overview of the situation and that they do not yet know anything about the cause of the accident, but that they have called in knowledgeable personnel to investigate.

East Jutland police report on Twitter just after 2 pm that they are massively present, and that they are conducting their investigations.

– The park is closed down and closed to guests, they write.

Accident in 2008

In 2008, four people were transported to the hospital when a carriage detached from the same roller coaster on July 4, according to Danish TV 2.

The Tivoli director informs Ekstra Bladet that there will now be talk of a different car than the one that came loose last.

The cause must have been a fault in several of the bolts on the construction. These errors were discovered several hours before the accident, without having been adequately rectified, writes Extra Bladet.

On the park’s website The Cobra roller coaster is described as “adrenaline rush for daredevils”. “Your legs are swept away beneath you and your heart pumps when you fly 400 meters free with your legs.” it says.

The Cobra has a top speed of 70 km / h, according to Danish TV 2.

Correction: An earlier version of the article stated that the previous accident happened on July 4 this year. The error was corrected approx. 14.15.
