Drops of blood on the asphalt and a sunken front door testify to the surge of violence that took place this Saturday, June 19 at around 10:20 a.m. in this building on rue du Chevreuil, located on the outskirts of the Côte- des-Roses, in Thionville. “This kind of event is a shock for the neighbors, and it is terrible that children were able to witness that”, comments a witness after the fact.

In the middle of the morning, the forces of the national police force and the firefighters of Thionville are called in emergency. And for good reason, in the heart of this building located a stone’s throw from the Bel-Air hospital, a family dispute would have greatly degenerated. Difficult for the moment to unravel the thread of events at the origin of the brawl and great agitation in the surroundings. Nevertheless, it would seem that several particularly aggressive people presented themselves at the entrance of one of the apartments of the building with the firm intention of entering it, cursing the residents in the process. Faced with the refusal from inside, the intruders would then have made the decision to break down the door, turning the argument into a scuffle, under the eyes of children who were there. The arrival of the police made it possible to end the melee.
Supported by the emergency services, at least three injured were taken to the nearby hospital. By late morning, no complaint had yet been received.
“What is terrible is that it will give the neighborhood a bad image again, while the people who came are not even from here”, laments a witness.
