Several houses evacuated after grass fire

At 17.15 on Sunday, the emergency services were notified of a grass fire that spread quickly in the terrain in Åmot in Modum in Viken.

The police state that two houses were evacuated due to the danger of spreading.

At 17.45, the fire brigade informs that they have gained control of the fire.

This is one of very many grass fires in different places in the country this weekend.

At around 3 pm on Sunday, the fire brigade worked intensely to put out a grass fire on Hylkjeflaten in Åsane in Bergen.

Here there was a danger that the fire would spread to more homes, but the fire brigade finally managed to gain control.

Sunday morning it also burned well in grass and light in Sirdal in Agder. Here was a twig bonfire that had gotten out of control.

There was a lot of wind at the site, the fire brigade therefore feared that the fire would spread to the buildings in the area. But at 13 o’clock the fire crews got control.

– It is forbidden to use open fire

On Friday, about 200 square meters were burned in Horten, before the fire brigade managed to put out this fire.

Vestfold Interkommunale Brannvesen states that it is forbidden to burn waste in Horten, Holmestrand, Tønsberg and Færder.
