The mediator of the Republic, Ms. Awa Nana-Daboya, in accordance with article 145 of the Togolese Constitution, continues to receive declarations of property and assets from high personalities of the country and others subject to the law. On March 16, 2023, she received in her offices, located in the OUA city in Lomé, the declarations of the assets of several personalities, including that of the presidents of institutions of the Republic.
The process of declaring the property and assets of high personalities, civil servants and public officials is continuing. Yesterday, the Mediator of the Republic, Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya, received, in the premises of her institution in Lomé, the declaration of the assets of the president of the High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication (HAAC), Mr. Telou Pitalounani, who arrived in person to fulfill this republican duty. Mrs. Awa Nana-Daboya also received the declaration of the president of the Constitutional Court presented by Mrs. Samira Assouma, and that of the president of the Court of Auditors made by his principal, Mr. Yao Hétsu Fiaty.
Following these various personalities, the Mediator of the French Republic also received the declarations of the other members of the High Authority for the Prevention and Fight against Corruption and Assimilated Offenses (HAPLUCIA) and of the general rapporteur of the HAAC, Mr. Badjibassa Babaka.
After fulfilling this civic duty, the president of the HAAC, Mr. Télou Pitalounani, said that it was with great pleasure that he came to declare his property and assets, in accordance with the provisions of the organic law. from Togo. Because according to him, it is specified in article 145 of the Constitution that each senior official of the State comes to make the declaration of his assets. “As president of the HAAC, I came to discharge this duty which went very well”, he specified. He also took the opportunity to invite other taxable persons who have not yet made their declaration, to come and do so with ease. ” What you don’t have, you don’t declare. The declaration is clear that you are declaring immovable property that is greater than 50 million FCFA and movable property greater than 20 million FCFA. The rest you declare without problem “said Mr. Télou.
Mrs. Samira Assouma, for her part, noted that this is a very important step, since it makes it possible to put the high authorities on a status equivalent to that of fellow citizens. The declaration procedure is well framed with the concise explanations of the Mediator of the French Republic on the course of the process. ” I made this statement on behalf of the President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Aboudou Assouma “, she clarified.
« I came to represent the President of the Court of Auditors, Mr. Jean Koffi Edoh, unable to attend. I have therefore just made the declaration being subject to the law. It’s a very good initiative. Since we know, since 2006, that the government is making reforms, among other things, good governance. And as the Court of Auditors, we ensure the correct application of the rules in the procedure for implementing the State budget. Every citizen is accountable before the law. It is within this framework that the president accomplished this republican task “, underlined, Mr. Yao Hétsu Fiaty.
It should be noted that the statements received are not made public. They are sealed and kept in safes at the institution level.
