For several hours the firefighters did not have control of the fire in an apartment in Sannergata on Grünerløkka in Oslo.
Being updated.
Firefighters say there was a fire on the fourth floor and that they tried to prevent it from spreading to the attic. They’ve been inside with smoke detectors and there shouldn’t have been any people in the apartment.
Just before four on Saturday night, firefighters say they are starting to control the fire.
For a long time the extinction was difficult, due to the age of the building and because the fire had taken place in the structure.
– This is a so-called farm from 1890, built in such a way that it has many cavities that make extinction difficult, says operations manager Sven Christian Lie in the police.
29 people were evacuated from the condominium. These are offered alternative accommodations. No injuries were reported to any of these.
There was a lot of smoke in the area and the images showed flames from the window onto the floor in question.
The road is blocked in Fagerheimgata in connection with the extinction works.
