Several people were killed in a shooting at a prayer house in the northern German city of Hamburg, the German police reported. German media report at least six to seven fatalities and seven seriously injured. Images show that police are present en masse at a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The shooting took place in Alsterdorf, a district in the north of Hamburg. Residents of the region have received a notification stating that they should temporarily not leave their homes.
Emergency services received a report about the shooting around 9 p.m. and turned out en masse. The police speak of a major incident. “We have no information yet about a possible motive,” the corps writes on Twitter.
No one has been arrested yet. According to German media, several people have fled.
