Several corona infections in schools in the district of Vechta | NDR.de - Nachrichten - Lower Saxony

Pupils from the fifth grade must wear masks again in class in the Vechta district from Monday. The reason: Corona infections are increasing in several schools.

In the past few days there have been more cases of infection in the school area, the district announced on Thursday. Among the eight newly infected people, five were students: two other students from the Allgemeine Gymnasium Lohne, one student from the St. Thomas Vechta college and one student each from the Antonianum Vechta grammar school and the Dinklage secondary school, according to the district in a message. The close contacts would now be identified and quarantined by the health department.

District: It is best to wear a mask again in class from now on

In order to prevent new infections and to allow upcoming exams to continue, students in secondary level 1 and 2 must therefore wear a medical mask again throughout class. The district issues a general order for this, which will come into force next Monday. However, the authority appealed to the students to keep their masks on in class today.
