The report of the fire in Ole Reistads vei came at 2.49, says operations manager Guro Sandnes in the Oslo police district to NTB.
There was then a danger of spreading, also to vegetation in the area.
– It is very dry now, and there is open wind and wind, the operations manager said.
Just over an hour after the report, the police reported that the fire brigade was extinguishing a total of five cars. No one was injured in the fire.
The operations manager states that it is too early to say anything about the cause of the fire. Police are questioning witnesses and going through video surveillance from the area.
Mohamed Asrih lives right by the parking lot. He was watching a movie when he heard a bang on the outside. He first feared that it could be a shooting episode, before he discovered that it was a fire in several cars.
– The fire brigade arrived quickly at the scene, says Asrih.
He says that there was a lot of smoke in the area when the fire was going on.
