DISTRICT STEYR-LAND. A 25-year-old from the district is accused of having committed a total of 24 break-ins in cellar compartments in Wartberg an der Krems, Leonding, Rohr im Ennstal, Sierning and Bad Hall between July and October 2020 and of stealing expensive bicycles – after his arrest at the end of October showed the young man now confesses.
The man mainly stole mountain bikes and e-bikes worth tens of thousands of euros, which he then sold to unknown people at flea markets in Linz. During the break-ins, it also caused property damage of several hundred euros.
Confession after arrest
The accused was arrested by police from Bad Hall on October 30, 2020, according to an arrest order from the Steyr public prosecutor, and taken to the Garsten prison. He initially refused to provide information, but after his lawyer had inspected the files, he now confessed in full.
