Seventy flights canceled at Schiphol due to storm, much delay NOW

More than seventy flights at Schiphol Airport were canceled on Sunday due to the harsh weather conditions. Dozens of other journeys were delayed by a few hours, according to Schiphol air traffic data.

A KLM spokesperson confirms that bad weather conditions, in particular the strong gusts of wind, are detrimental to air traffic. The delay should decrease in the coming hours.

Several flights had as their final destination London and Berlin, where it also storms on Sunday. It is not clear how many Dutch people were affected by the canceled flights.

Schiphol has already suffered damage due to various storms. Ciara, who raged across the Netherlands in early February, caused 240 canceled flights. Successor Dennis mainly caused a delay a week later.
