Seventh Round Draw for Coupe de France Revealed: Ligue 2 Clubs Enter the Fray

The French Football Federation carried out the draw for the seventh round matches this Wednesday in Clairefontaine, marking the entry into the running of Ligue 2 clubs. The matches will be played on the weekend of November 19.

The posters for the seventh round of the Coupe de France are known. This Wednesday, the French Football Federation carried out the draw for the matches which will take place on November 18 and 19. Ligue 2 clubs will enter the fray on this occasion.

Six-time winner of the competition and currently second in Ligue 2, Saint-Etienne will play against Bourg-en-Bresse, a National 2 club. Bordeaux will travel to Canet RFC, who eliminated OM in 2021. AJ Auxerre, which has the Coupe de France under its belt, will play against Le Pays du Valois.

Demoted to National this season, Sochaux will host Jura Sud, which plays at a lower level in N2. Winner of the Coupe de France in 2009 and 2014, Guingamp will stay in Brittany to challenge US Saint-Malo, another team which plays in N2. The Ligue 1 teams will wait until the 32nd finals to begin their tournament.

As a reminder, the grants that will be paid this season promise to be less lucrative than in previous years. This situation is explained by a drop in the TV rights contract, with a loss of 7.5 million euros compared to the last agreement signed.
