Mārtiņš Sesks and Renārs Francis, who will start in this competition with the powerful “Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo” car, ranked second in practice runs or shahedown session, while in qualifying they showed the seventh result among many strong crews.
The Italian Alberto Batistolli was the fastest in the qualification, who completed the 3.77 km long speed stage in 1 minute and 52.631 seconds, but the Lithuanian Vaidots Žala was a little slower.
Only 0.1 seconds behind them were New Zealander Hayden Padon, who tried out the newly received Hyundai rally car for the first time during practice runs, and Estonian Gregors Jets.
The Seska/Francz crew was only 0.3 seconds slower than the fastest drivers in qualifying and finished in seventh place. Ours have chosen the 11th starting place for tomorrow’s stages.
The first six speed stages (85.94 km) will be held on Saturday within the framework of “Tet Rally Liepāja”, while another six (95.34 km) will be measured on Sunday.
