Seventh Edition of Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Award Receives Record-Breaking Nominations

ABU DHABI, 12 SEPTEMBER/WAM/ The organizing committee of the seventh edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Award, which is organized by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, announced the closing of nominations for the award, as the nomination process lasted for 20 days. The winners of the award will be announced on November 15, 2023, during the ceremony held in the capital, Abu Dhabi. The successes achieved by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Women’s Sports represent a tremendous gain and an embodiment of the process of development and prosperity for women in sports, especially since it aims to shed light on women’s sports and the experiences of inspiring women. In the sports sector, and to maximize the role of women in general within the framework of empowerment endeavors, and seeks to honor distinguished women in sports in appreciation of their contributions and achievements that they have achieved in various local, regional, continental and international sports tournaments and forums.
The Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Women’s Sports is no longer limited to certain categories, but has been extended to include the sports mother, which is the new category in the seventh edition.

The award is also keen on diversity and appreciation of sports initiatives aimed at developing young women and creative initiatives that would contribute to the greater development of women’s sports, motivating talents and giving them the opportunity to obtain appropriate recognition for achieving more achievements, in addition to the well-known award categories, which are the best Emirati athlete and the best female athlete. The jury, consisting of an elite group of Arab names in the sports field, began sorting the nomination files that the award received on its website immediately after the nomination window closed, and the names of the male and female candidates on the final list will be announced on October 23, 2023.
It is worth noting that the seventh edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Award has a total of 1.8 million dirhams, distributed in 11 categories at the individual and group levels (the level of sports federations and institutions), in addition to the special award given by the jury to honor the Arab Women Sports Personality of the Year.
