Three years of work finally come to an end, it’s worth celebrating! On Thursday, June 10, seven final year students from the Notre-Dame de Chartres institution received honors for their success in the High School Diploma. They were given the academic scarf and headdress, called mortar, iconic of American universities. Clearly, they had their baccalaureate before the baccalaureate (in any case, we wish them).
“It requires us to organize ourselves differently each week, but the rewards are worth the effort. “

The training, offered by the Academica organization, was provided to them remotely. It allows them to obtain an American diploma in parallel with the French baccalaureate.
On the program for these three years, there was something predictable, such as English and American culture classes, but also the unexpected. This is the case, for example, with specializations in criminology or photography, subjects rarely taught in our French establishments.
Be careful, however, fighting on two fronts at the same time is not easy: “We have between 4 and 10 hours per week of additional work to provide to follow this program”, explains Amandine Cierpisz, one of the new baccalaureate holders. A testimony that abounds Justin Milon, his comrade: “It requires us to organize ourselves differently each week, but the game is worth the candle. “
For these seven high school students, the reward is commensurate with their efforts. As a result, a welcome enhancement on their CV to demonstrate their motivation and seriousness. An essential addition, at the dawn of selections in higher education.
The 2021 Bac will not be given to them and the Terminals of the Covid generation will not have stolen it
A human adventure and a plus on the CV
It is also an opportunity to continue on this path by continuing their studies in English-speaking countries, the diploma attesting to a sufficient linguistic level to follow courses abroad.
Finally, everyone says, the value of this diploma lies in the human adventure that it represents. From the Seconde to the Terminale, this small group worked hand in hand in the good times as the bad times, a state of mind summarized by Margot Wankin: “When one is overloaded by work, they are the only ones able to understand. . It creates special bonds that we don’t forget. “
They now only have one appointment, in July, to have their diplomas hand-delivered. In the meantime, during the ceremony on Thursday, filmed to be broadcast in July, with all the other students followed by Academica, the seven new baccalaureate graduates were able to celebrate, in the American style, their diploma, with the traditional mortar throwing.
