Mazda’s seven-seat midsize SUV, CX-8, featured an update for 2021 with two new variants to be sold in the Australian market. The new Touring SP and Asaki LE, arrive loaded with luxury.
The Mazda CX-8 2021 It is updated by adding two new variants to its range that will be available in Australia. The first is a sports feature alternative called Touring SP, and the second is the version Asaki LE which adds “captain’s seats” in the second row.
This SUV first debuted in 2017 and hit the market as the seven seat model in the lines of the Mazda CX-5. Then in 2019 it received a half-life update, which suggests that soon it will be able to release a generation, but in the meantime it presents a new package of novelties.
In this way the complete CX-8 range seven configuration options available as follows: Sport, Touring, Touring SP, GT, Asaki and at the top of the range the Asaki LE. Prices in Australia start at $ 31,296 and go up to $ 54,719 for the most equipped version.
Updates in each version
Starting with the entry level, Mazda CX-8 Sport, this is equipped with 8.0-inch infotainment system with connectivity Apple CarPlay y Android Auto. Outside it was equipped with 17 inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights and tire pressure monitoring system.
Going to Touring, in update 2021 he wins LED fog lights, front parking sensors and keyless access. Meanwhile on board, the undergarment was upholstered in black leather and has heated front seats and USB charging for second row passengers.
On one of the new additions, the version of sports characteristics Touring SP, includes 19 inch alloy wheels, front grill and rear view mirrors in gloss black. That in regards to its exterior. In the cabin there are black leatherette seats with Grand Luxe synthetic suede.
This is followed by the CX-8 GT variant that gets new details in its exterior styling such as adaptive LED headlights, power tailgate, infotainment system Mazda Connect 10.25-inch widescreen, running through a Bose 10-speaker premium audio system.
The CX-8 Asaki, on the other hand, sports a metallic front grill and larger exhaust pipes as a distinctive feature. Inside was used cuero Chroma Brown Nappa with padding, ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel and adds an instrument cluster of 7.0 inch TFT screen.
The other novelty, with the new Asaki LE equipment level, is the incorporation of captain’s seats with heating and ventilation for the second row, with cup holders and USB chargers. Otherwise they are the same equipment items that the Asaki presents.
Benefits
The Mazda CX-8 2021 offers for the first versions, a 2.5-liter gasoline engine that produces 187 horsepower and 252 Nm of torque, six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The new Touring SP can adapt the sistema i-Activ AWD.
For the Asaki LE a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine that offers power of 187 horses and torque of 450 Nm. The gearbox is six-speed automatic and the traction is the same i-Activ AWD. This same engine is also offered as an option on the other levels.
