Taking into account what happened on Friday, the game “Arena Riga” between Riga “Dinamo” and “Neftehimik” will not take place. KHL will inform about the new possible game date of the game separately.
“Neftehimik” hockey players arrived in Riga on Thursday to play against the local “Dinamo”. According to the sanitary protocol, the whole team underwent Covid-19 tests, and seven hockey players tested positive. The Russian team will now go to St. Petersburg, where additional inspections will be carried out. After receiving the results of these tests, the team’s further participation in future games will be considered.
At the end of August, several cases of Covid-19 had already been discovered in the Nizhny Novgorod team, so the team is not currently playing in the best line-up.
This is the first time in KHL’s new season that Covid-19 has canceled the game. This is the third game of Riga “Dinamo”, which is influenced by Covid-19, because in two matches the referees had to change the team and the games were judged by local judges.
