Seven Pariaman City Residents Affected by DHF

Covesia.com – Until June 2020, there are seven people in Pariaman City, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) suffering from Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF).

“Indeed there is no increase when compared with the same period last year, but of course it must remain a concern, so that residents are not attacked by dengue,” said Head of the Health Office, City of Pariaman Syahrul on Monday (6/29/2020).

Syahrul continued, overcoming the spread of DHF, his side carried out fogging or fumigation by using pesticides at the location of residents’ homes that were stricken with the disease.

“200 meters from the homes of residents affected by DHF, we do fumigation so that the disease does not spread to other residents,” he said.

“Usually mosquitoes fly around 100 meters but the area of fogging that we do is double that,” he said.

Syahrul said, although his party carried out fumigation into people’s homes, it did not completely prevent dengue outbreaks in an area.

But there are three steps that local residents can also take to prevent the DHF, namely draining and closing water reservoirs, and burying used goods that have the potential to spread mosquitoes.

“For this reason, the habit must be increased,” he said.
