Seven new more restrictive measures against the coronavirus in Valencia: closing until January 31

The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, has called for this Tuesday a meeting of the Interdepartmental Table for Prevention and Action against covid-19, in which the latest data has been analyzed and it has been decided to apply new measures against coronavirus given the alarming growth of cases in the Community Valencian. After the appointment, the president appeared at a press conference to announce the following measures “to face the health emergency, guarantee health. Vaccination, new economic restrictions, guarantee education and health.” The measures come into effect this Thursday, January 7. The number of people, the hours of the bars and the curfew are reduced

“The evolution of the pandemic has led us to a serious situation. It is growing in a special way in the Valencia Community and that requires a forceful response “announced Ximo Puig.” We were the first to close the bars, restrict nighttime mobility and family trips and now we have reached a new turning point ” , has insisted.

We have to change the current trend. We have registered 196 deaths in one week. It is an unbearable fact. The measures will begin this Thursday

New measures

The summary is:

1- The perimeter closure of the entire Valencian Community is extended until next January 31
2- The curfew is brought forward at 22.00
3- The closure of the hotel industry of the entire Valencian Community is brought forward at 5:00 p.m.
4- No smoking on the terraces of the restaurants and bars.
5- The capacity of shops is reduced to 30%
6- Continue the maximum of 6 people in social and family gatherings
7- Those municipalities with the most critical incidents are closed on the perimeter. In total it affects 25 municipalities of the Valencian Community

The seven new measures against the coronavirus

Entry and exit in the Valencian Community: until January 31

Perimeter closure of the Valencian Community until January 31, 2021, except for duly justified trips.

Night hours

The limitation of the freedom of movement of people at night will be from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Catering and hospitality: 4 people and until 5:00 p.m.

It is limited to a maximum of 4 people per table. The closing time of the catering and hospitality establishments will be at 5:00 p.m. The occupation of the tables will be of a maximum number of 4 people.

The hotel business will be able to give dinner to those who are staying. The service stations are not fixed at any time.

Smoking is prohibited on the terraces

Smoking is prohibited on the terraces and tables for a maximum of 4 people.

30% capacity for all shops

The commercial premises are reduced to 30%, including the car parks except pharmacies, food, opticians, veterinarians, orthopedics and hairdressers that maintain 50% capacity.

Permanence of groups of people in public and private spaces

Socio-family meetings are limited to a maximum of 6 people, except between partners. It is recommended that in these meetings the two groups of coexistence are not exceeded.

Sports: the infant and primary sports competition is suspended

Perimeter confinement with a critical incidence for 25 municipalities for 14 days

In Castellón: Borriol, Atzeneta, Soneja and Jerica

In Alicante: Alcoi, Castalla and Polop

In Valencia: Llíria, Massanassa, Ayora, Utiel, Sedaví, Sollana, Guadassuar, Oliva, Daimús, Canals, Benigànim, Xàtiva, Moixent, Ontinyent, Cheste, Sinarcas, Anna, Quatretonda and Bonrepós and Mirambell.

* URGENT NOTE *: The municipalities of Alfafar, Llocnou de la Corona and Benetússer will be confined together with Sedaví and Massanassa due to the linking of the urban fabric between them.
In these municipalities, events with a concentration of people are prohibited (public shows, animal exhibitions)

Education: back to school

The restart of the school year after the Christmas holidays is not postponed and, as planned, on January 7, classes will resume. Since the current school year began, classrooms have proven to be one of the safest places. The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and, especially, the teaching staff have effectively and scrupulously applied the anticovid protocols designed at the beginning of the school period.

Vaccinations

The vaccination process will be intensified and between Monday and Tuesday it will have been supplied to all nursing homes (except those with outbreaks) and next week they will start with first-line health and senior centers and when authorized Moderna’s vaccine, also to hospital staff

Health prevention

We are prepared for this second wave. We have supplies for the next 4-5 months and we have a framework agreement to guarantee two years.

Hospital pressure has increased but the system is not saturated. We have expanded facilities to grow and more staff than ever.
