The number of coronavirus infections in the province of Groningen has increased by seven since Thursday. This is evident from figures from the RIVM, which were released on Friday afternoon. Two residents of the municipality of Groningen were tested positive.
The total number of infections in the province, with these new infections, would have risen to 629 since the outbreak of the virus. In addition to Groningen, infections were also found in the municipalities of Westerwolde (1), Westerkwartier (1), Veendam (1) and Midden-Groningen (2).
Wednesday reported the GGD Groningen that the number of infections in the province is in the process of decreasing. According to the service, 40 percent of the new infections could be traced back to a visit from another country. More than half occurred in people between the ages of 18 and 30.
