Seven neglected dogs were taken from a house in Winschoten by the police and the Animal Protection on Tuesday. They stood in a layer of waste and feces 20 centimeters high. Local residents say the animals should have been rescued earlier.

“The dogs saw daylight again today for the first time in a long time”, reports the police of Winschoten in the Netherlands. However, according to local residents, action should have been taken much earlier.
‘The dog shit house’
They say they have reported to the police four months ago. “Then they had a chat with the tenant, they shook his hand and then they left again,” a local resident told RTV Noord, which speaks of ‘the dog poo house’.
Local residents saw that the current tenant no longer lives in the building himself – but left the dogs behind. “After a short while he got a girlfriend. He lives there now. And every night he arrives here with a big bag of chunks. ” Another: “He brings those chunks inside, then he gets back into the car and drives away.”
Poor bugs
“It is bizarre that this had to take so long,” says a local resident. “Those poor creatures, isn’t this pathetic? The police have been phoned many times and I heard that letters have also been sent to the municipality, but that was all to no avail. ”
The police cannot say how many reports have been received. The tenant has now received an official report.
