Seven migrants were killed in an accident in southern Hungary last night. Four others were injured. The victims were in a car whose driver tried to evade a police check in Mórahalom, on the border with Serbia. According to the Hungarian police, the man collided with a house.
The car with the Serbian registration number drove away at high speed just before midnight on seeing the police check. After the collision, the car ended up on its side. People smugglers are increasingly trying to smuggle migrants into the European Union via the Serbian-Hungarian border.
