Most infections were reported in the municipality of Emmen (+54). Four of the seven deaths were in the municipality of Westerveld.
Yesterday, 169 more infections were added in Drenthe. The average of the past seven days (including today) is 122 infections per day in our province.

Drenthe hospitals
According to the Acute Care Network North Netherlands (AZNN), seven patients with (suspected) covid-19 are currently in intensive care (ic) in Drenthe. There were eight on Monday and seven exactly a week ago.
There are 32 patients with (suspected) covid-19 in a non-IC bed in Drenthe. That was Monday 28 and exactly a week ago 33.
National figures
The RIVM registered 5,151 new corona infections between Thursday and Friday morning. That is well above the weekly average. In the past seven days, the institute recorded an average of 4,547 positive corona tests per day.
On Thursday, 5029 cases of corona were reported, according to corrected figures. Wednesday there were 4,403, Tuesday 3,834.
The number of reported deaths from covid-19 rose by 65 last 24 hours. That is not to say that all these people died in a 24-hour period. Deaths are sometimes passed on after a while. 33 deaths were registered on Thursday, 63 on Wednesday.
Rural hospitals
There are currently 1,864 corona patients in Dutch hospitals, 23 fewer than yesterday. Of them, 525 are on the IC, one less than the day before, and 1,339 in the clinic, 22 less. This is reported by the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS).
218 new covid patients have been admitted today, seven fewer than yesterday. 32 of them had to go to the ic. There are now 1018 ic beds occupied, of which 525 by people with covid. “Both inflow and occupancy in hospitals are stable at the moment,” says the LCPS.
