Seven Differences Characteristics of liquid, gel and bar bath soap

Jakarta: As is known, there are various types shower gel with a variety of shapes and aromas. Starting with liquid soap, gel a solid soap and with fruity, floral and coffee scents, everything is available on the market.

However, before choosing a soap to use every day, it is good to know the main differences between the three types of soap. From there you will understand which one is best for your skin.

Starting with Skin Kraft, here are seven different characteristics of liquid soaps, gels, and bars of soap, including:

1. Plot

Gel soap is hard and has a thicker, jelly-like consistency. They contain thickening polymers that can increase their viscosity. The bar of soap is more of a solid block available in a variety of attractive shapes, colors and designs. Meanwhile, liquid soap (body cleanser) has a thinner consistency and comes with a cream or lotion-like consistency.

2. Fragrance

Typically, the fragrances of shower gels last longer due to the higher concentration of ingredients that satisfy the sense of smell. If the bubble bath has a slight fragrance. The soap, on the other hand, has a longer lasting fragrance because it contains essential oils or synthetic fragrances.

3. Materials

Shower gels are usually formulated with surfactants, water, preservatives, fragrances, emulsifiers and detergents. Water forms a texture, surfactants foam and humectants add moisturizing properties to shower gels. The preservatives help the shower gel with a longer shelf life. Meanwhile, the bubble bath usually contains surfactants, emulsifiers, humectants, vitamin E, essential oils and natural extracts.

The bar of soap is made with oils, fats and alkaline solutions through a process called saponification. They contain sodium tallow, sodium cocoa, sodium palmate and similar ingredients.

4. Purpose

All of them are useful for cleansing the body. However, when choosing the right one for your skin, pay attention to the weather conditions and your skin type. The shower gel is formulated to have a balanced pH and contains gentle and soothing properties. They also contain exfoliating properties and can effectively clean dead skin cells.

The body wash works best to soothe dry skin thanks to its moisturizing properties. Some newer body cleansing formulas consist of a common skin ointment called petrolatum emulsion, which improves dryness while cleaning the skin.

Soaps, unless they are medicinal or contain moisturizing ingredients, can dry out the skin. If you use a specially formulated soap made from mild ingredients, it might work. You can also use an antibacterial bar of soap to get rid of body odor and bacteria.

5. Cleaning

Shower gels and liquid soaps do not contain bacteria. Thanks to the container, the remaining liquid is protected from air and physical contact. Bar soap is not a good choice for hygienic use. Studies show that the levels of bacteria in used soap are higher than those in used soap. These germs accumulate on wet surfaces. There is a high probability that germs will spread from one person to another. If you use a bar of soap, make sure it is only used by you.

6. Eligibility

If you have acne, sensitive skin, rosacea or eczema, pay attention to the cleaning products you use for your skin. Neither the shower gel, nor the shower gel, nor the bar of soap should dry out or irritate the skin further. Avoid bath soaps that dry the skin.

Look for hypoallergenic ones that don’t have strong fragrances and don’t drain your skin’s natural oils. Bar soap is best suited for children, teenagers, and young adults. As we age, moisturizing body cleansers are better suited to the skin as they keep the skin soft, hydrated and supple for longer.

7. Skin type

For oily skin types, shower gels are great! They are more suitable for oily skin as they remove excess oil thanks to their lightening properties. You can use emollient shower gels, which contain skin-soothing ingredients such as vitamin E to treat chapped skin.

If you have sensitive skin, use a soap with a lower pH level. Bath soaps usually contain essential oils such as lemon, sandalwood or lavender and moisturizing ingredients such as panthenol (a chemical derived from pantothenic acid), vitamin B5, and fatty acids that cleanse without drying the skin. Try using a bath soap that contains glycolic acid as it can exfoliate dead skin cells if you have keratosis pilaris (which causes dry, rough patches and small bumps).

Bar soaps are quite commonly used. But if you have sensitive skin, avoid using it. They are alkaline with respect to the pH of the skin. If you have normal skin, try using a mild bar of soap. Look for hypoallergenic products, unless your doctor has prescribed a medicated soap for any skin condition.

Remember, determining the type of body cleanser is very important. Because each type of soap has its advantages and disadvantages.
