TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – North Jakarta Health Office recorded seven cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) occurred in the period from January 1 to February 28, 2021. These cases occurred against residents of six sub-districts in North Jakarta.
Head of North Jakarta Health Sub-Department, Dr. Yudi Dimyati, said four dengue cases occurred in January and three other cases in February 2021. “Three cases in February were in Koja, Penjaringan, and Tanjung Priok Districts,” said Yudi in Jakarta, Sunday, March 14, 2021.
In Koja Subdistrict, DHF cases occurred twice, namely in January and February. Meanwhile in Cilincing, DHF cases only occurred in January. In Penjaringan, dengue cases were found in February.
According to Yudi, the humid environment is a good place for dengue mosquitoes to breed. He urged residents to immediately have their health checked if they find signs that have dengue fever. DHF patients who are treated late can be at risk of dying.
To combat dengue cases in North Jakarta, Sudinkes conducts fogging in the prone areas where the Aedes aegypti mosquito breeds.
DHF is a fever or infection caused by the flavivirodae virus. Symptoms that are caused vary, ranging from moderate to severe. Symptoms of dengue fever are moderate, ranging from headache, back pain, nausea and vomiting, high fever, rash, flu, and joint pain.
In severe DHF symptoms, the patient will experience shock, severe abdominal pain, decreased blood pressure, bleeding, severe vomiting, organ disorders, and bruising or bleeding under the skin.

Patient dengue fever generally complaining of severe headaches and body aches until a rash appears on the skin or a rash. For those affected by dengue, the rash if pressed will remain red because there is bleeding under the skin.
