Seven-day incidence over 100: This is where you face new restrictions

Municipalities are pulling the Corona emergency brake: 261 districts exceed the 100 incidence: You are threatened with new restrictions

After months of closings, facilities such as schools, hairdressing salons and retail stores were allowed to reopen at the beginning of March. But in 261 counties and urban districts, the seven-day incidence is over 100. New restrictions are soon looming here. FOCUS Online shows you whether your district is affected.

“Unfortunately, we will also have to use this emergency brake”: shortly before the Prime Minister’s Conference on Monday, Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) is dampening hopes for further opening steps.

Public life in Germany has been slowly ramping up again since the beginning of March. Depending on the Corona situation, retailers, hairdressing salons and schools, among other things, may open in the individual countries and regions.

However, the number of infections continues to rise in this country, and the virus situation is becoming increasingly critical. At a value of 100, the “emergency brake” mentioned by Merkel takes effect, as part of which loosening is reduced again. More and more counties are currently heading for this brand – or have even passed it.

Corona pandemic in Germany: 261 districts exceed the 100 mark

Specifically, the decisive threshold of 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants was exceeded within a week in 151 rural districts (LK) and 68 district-free cities (SK). In total, there are 261 circles above the critical mark. The nationwide incidence rises to 124.9 (as of March 27).

The federal and state governments had decided that the latest easing will be withdrawn when the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants rises above 100 within a week. As a result, many federal states, districts and municipalities are forced to pull the emergency brake – and close retail and cultural institutions again.

Corona hotspot Greiz replaced: Saale-Orla district now hardest hit

At the top are the Saale-Orla-Kreis (Thuringia), Schwäbisch Hall (Baden-Württemberg), the Wartburgkreis (Thuringia), Greiz (Thuringia) and the Vogtlandkreis (Saxony) with an incidence of over 400. The Saale- Orla-Kreis even surpasses the 500 mark.

Four other districts exceed the 300 incidence (Hof in Bavaria, Gera in Thuringia, Schmalkalden-Meiningen in Thuringia and Cham in Bavaria). Another 35 districts have an incidence of more than 200, and the number is in danger of increasing.

Which regions tore the crucial incidence value of 100, FOCUS Online has compiled for you with the help of the data from the Robert Koch Institute.

The emergency brake should not apply immediately in all countries

Some countries recently left the 100 mark – Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CDU) is therefore pushing for a uniform solution at the Corona summit on Monday. One is clearly facing a growing third wave, said Söder. “Now we have to be careful that the third wave doesn’t become a perm.”

Brandenburg, for example, was on its own: The Corona ordinance there only said that the districts and independent cities should take further protective measures in the event of an increase in new infections per 100,000 inhabitants over 100 within a week; the latest easing should only be withdrawn from 200 . This brought the government of Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke into criticism (SPD), to which politicians have now reacted: From Monday, a “tightened emergency brake” will also apply in Brandenburg. If the 7-day incidence in a region is over 100 on three consecutive days, loosening is collected again.

Also North Rhine-Westphalia will be from Monday despite the rapidly increasing corona numbers Do not pull a nationwide Corona emergency brake. Only in municipalities with a weekly incidence of more than 100 shops, sports facilities and cultural institutions have to close. The affected districts and independent cities are allowed to Exceptions for people with a daily negative quick test or self-test allow. However, these exceptional options must be agreed with the Ministry of Health beforehand.
