Cinemark announced that seven Chicago-area theaters will reopen Friday under enhanced COVID-19 mitigation measures.
According to a statement, theaters will show new and classic films and will include special offers in February.
Here are the locations of the cinemas opening on Friday:

- Cinemark Louis Joliet Mall: Joliet
- Cinemark Melrose Park: Melrose Park
- Cinemark Tinseltown: North Aurora
- Cinemark Spring Hill Mall y XD: West Dundee
- Cinemark en Seven Bridges: Woodridge
Tickets are on sale starting this Thursday for both standard times and private functions, in which a group can see a selected movie separately. Rent is $ 99 for a classic movie and $ 149 for new releases. For more information visit www.cinemark.com.
The company said theaters will show movies such as “Wonder Woman 1984,” “The Little Things,” “The Marksman,” “News of the World,” and “The Croods: A New Age,” among others.
People who watch a movie before Sunday will receive a free ticket to use between February 1 and February 28. After watching the second movie, they will receive a coupon for $ 10 to use towards the purchase of snacks and drinks.
Cinemark added that each cinema will be disinfected between screenings and masks will be mandatory for users and employees. Users will have access to seat wipes, hand sanitizer and contactless payment methods.
On Friday, 35 AMC locations will also reopen under sanitation measures.

Theaters will operate at 25% capacity to meet state requirements to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Illinois. Users will need to wear a mask and socially distance themselves while in theaters.
Other attractions have also opened in the Chicago area including the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum and the Art Institute.
