Fitness + is Apple’s service for doing sports and the company has offered a vision to the prestigious magazine Men’s Health to see its spectacular studio of two thousand square meters. The interview was virtual and hosted by Jay Blahnik, Senior Director of Fitness for Health Technologies.
To start, the magazine describes the design of the space as all white with touches of wood, lots of glass and lots of screens that show what is happening in the study. He also comments that it has three large glass doors that show an outside garden.

Seven robotic cameras are in charge of filming a session that is about to begin. Blahnik mentions that “They want these workouts be magical “. He adds that “Many people may not think about the importance of lighting a different kind of exercise bike than a vintage one, but they think that makes a difference.”
“We are creating a work of art, a work of inspiration, a work of motivation.”
Jay Blahnik translated into Spanish in his interview for Men’s Health
The host is not new to this whole topic, has been working for the sports industry for more than thirty years and in the mid-2000s he developed apps and devices for Nike. This is the last big project he has been involved in.

Fitness + is not yet in Spain and it seems difficult for them to bring subtitled or dubbed content to our country. We will see what Apple does in this regard. The idea of this platform is that we can follow your sessions through our iPhone, iPad, Mac and even Apple TV, accompanied by real-time monitoring of our Apple Watch.
“The purpose of what we have been doing is from the beginning is to do fitness […] a little simpler, more motivating and easier to measure ”. This begins with his study with seven cameras with robotic arms that capture movements in high definition to create an elegant and intimate view.

Apple takes into account what should be displayed on the screen during the workout, that is why the company changes the data shown to be as relevant as possible, such as the time remaining when the session is about to end.
Two coaches accompany the principal to create a sense of team that is transmitted to the spectator. Their age is between twenty and sixty years old, and they are of different ethnic origins. Blahnik comments that Apple Fitness + is the opposite of the intimidating and hostile atmosphere that surrounds some aspects of the world of sports.
Finally Jay Blahnik declined to comment on what was to come. mentioning “that it was a marathon, not a sprint”, referring to the future of the platform. He also commented that “this is not a hobby for them. It is something they are committed to and plan to invest in. “
