Great Place To Work has published the list of the 100 best small and medium-sized employers for 2024. The “Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe” award is particularly sought after in times of skilled labor shortages.
Shortly after Great Place To Work (GPTW) Austria has chosen the ten best domestic IT employers (LEADERSNET reported), there is now the next ranking. This time it is an international evaluation. Specifically, the best small and medium-sized employers in Europe were chosen in 2024. And the result is positive for Austria. Because seven local companies made it onto the list of the “100 Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe” 2024.
According to GTPW, only companies and employers that stand out for their strong corporate culture make it onto the list. The ranking is based on an analysis of over 1.3 million confidential survey responses, reflecting the experiences of more than two million employees in Europe. According to official information, the evaluation is carried out according to criteria that include trust, innovation, corporate values and leadership skills.
Seven companies from Austria
Only companies with 50 to 499 employees that have already achieved Great Place To Work certification in their local markets can make it onto this European list. Jörg SpreitzerManaging Director of Great Place To Work Austria, emphasizes: “The Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe award is proof of companies’ continuous investment in their employees. It shows that a positive working environment can be created regardless of external influences. Austria is one of the really good countries in Europe.”

Success factors
But what actually characterizes successful companies? GPTW says the businesses on the list create a strong culture of trust, even in difficult times. “Despite economic challenges, these companies have found ways to provide more support to their employees and develop a foundation of trust that is essential to long-term business success,” said Michael C.
