(ANSA) – REGGIO CALABRIA, APRIL 16 – Two drug dealing centers which, in parallel, managed the retail sale of various types of drugs in Cittanova and Taurianova, in the province of Reggio Calabria. Seven people were arrested by the Carabinieri of the Gioia Tauro Group in an operation, called “Game over”, conducted with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor of Palmi, Emanuele Crescenti, and the deputy prosecutor Davide Lucisano. The arrests were made in execution of a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the investigating judge, who also ordered two other suspects, respectively, to be required to report to the judicial police and to be banned from staying. The investigations made it possible to demonstrate the constant coming and going of people who, at all hours of the day, purchased large doses of cocaine, hashish and marijuana in the homes used by the suspects for dealing. The suspects supplied themselves with the narcotic substance in various locations in the national territory and abroad. Over eighty incidents of sale, purchase and possession of drugs documented by investigators, for a total turnover of over half a million euros. During the investigations, the military carried out numerous drug seizures thanks also to the contribution of a canine unit from the Carabinieri unit of Vibo Valentia, which on one occasion found a block of cocaine hidden in the air conditioning system of the car of one of those arrested. A subsequent search of the same person’s pet shop led to the discovery of four kilos of marijuana. (HANDLE).
