The award rewards an album with a rock essence. It will be awarded on January 28 in Angoulême.
After a first edition in 2022 which dedicated “Cool Parano: a graphic testament” by Benoit Carbonnel to the Even Not Bad editions, the Elvis d’or award organized by the former editor of the Écho des Savanes Hervé Desinge returns in 2023. For this second edition edition, the prize will be endowed with a prize of 1,000 euros. The jury, always chaired by the journalist Philippe Manoeuvre, will have to choose between the seven albums in the running:
- “Hellfest, Metal Vortex”, by Jorge Bernstein, Fabrice Hodecent, Pixel Vengeur (Rouquemoute)
- « Kiss the sky, Jimi Hendrix 1942-1970 », by JM Dupont, Mezzo (Glénat)
- «Les sauvages animaux», by Johan De Moor, Stephen Desberg (Casterman)
- “Malcom McLaren, the art of disaster”, by Marie Ennard, Lionel Chouin, Manu Leduc (Futuropolis)
- “Stupid White Male”, by Salch (Hammerhead Sharks)
- «Vega», by Serge Lehman, Yann Legendre (Albin Michel)
- « Vernon Subutex », by Virginie Despentes, Light (Albin Michel)
The 2023 prize will be awarded on Saturday 28 January 2023 at 16:00 at the Lion Rouge in Angoulême during the festival.
