Lee Seung-woo (23, Sint Trawiden, photo), who has been advancing into the K-League in professional football, is on loan to Portugal’s Primeira Liga (first division) Portimonence.
The Portuguese League Secretariat announced on the 2nd (Korean time) that the winter transfer market was closed and Lee Seung-woo’s transfer documents to Portimonence had been received.
Earlier, Portuguese media Hecord and others first reported his transfer news and reported that “Lee Seung-woo will be on loan until the end of this season, and the contract includes a complete transfer option.”
The Portimonence club turned to Lee Seung-woo when it failed to sign Sporting striker Gonzalo Plata (21, Ecuador), and the contract was signed shortly before the transfer market closes.
Lee Seung-woo, who was from the Spanish FC Barcelona youth team, transferred to Sint Trawydon in Belgium’s main pillar league in August 2019 after passing Italian Serie A Verona, but the team’s position is narrowing.
He scored only two goals in 13 games in the first half of this season, and has not been on the list since manager Peter Maes took office last December. He missed all nine games.
Portimonens is in 13th place in the Primeira Liga this season, with Japanese goalkeeper Shuichi Gonda and defender Koki Anzai playing on the team. yunhap news
