JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – A photo of Setya Novanto who was seen carrying two cellphones at the Sukamiskin Prison in Bandung, West Java, has gone viral on social media. The phone appears to have been placed on the table.
In response, the head of the Sukamiskin Penitentiary (Kalapas) Bandung, Elly Yuzar, spoke up. According to him, after being verified, it is suspected that the photo was taken during Eid al-Adha 2020.
“Yes (photo in prison), it was Eid al-Adha,” said Elly when met in Bandung, West Java, Saturday.
Elly said the incident occurred on Eid al-Adha 2020 because there were several other photos in the incident which showed there was a meat grill.
“They said that they remembered this photo from last year’s Eid al-Adha, they said. We cut the sacrificial animals, that’s their story,” said Elly.
In the photo circulating on social media, the former chairman of the DPR RI, who is familiarly called Setnov, looks like he has two cellphones.
He was photographed sitting with other inmates, namely the former Mayor of Bandung Dada Rosada and other inmates.
