“We take our responsibility for sustainable construction seriously. “We therefore attach great importance to the energy efficiency of the building, the entire construction process and the responsible use of resources,” says André Schellenberg, the city treasurer responsible for the property management Darmstadt (IDA). In this construction project, for the first time, the focus is primarily on the concept of circular building, for which the reuse and usability of building materials is central and which aims to minimize waste generation. IDA launched this innovative approach in a municipal competition for the first time, thereby setting new standards for sustainable building in municipalities.
