The issue of the lapsed from the fiscal Peace is increasingly hot and if at first the Government seemed immovable, then things changed.
Let’s see all the news regarding this delicate matter. They even are 530 thousand taxpayers who are not up to date with the installments.
But if until a few weeks ago it seemed to them that there was no hope, today we know that there are new windows from the Government and the new dates to get back in order.
Fiscal peace was not enough for many
Scrapping ter and balance and excerpt had been a great opportunity that over a million Italians took off.
But while most of them managed to stay up to date with the various installments provided for by the law, as many as 530,000 taxpayers failed to honor payments of the installments in the right time. The last deadline was at the end of 2021 and the position of all these taxpayers has become hot. Indeed the deadline expired on 9 December to get back in order with the installments, but many did not make it. With the new dates published in the Official Gazette, even those who have forfeited the benefits will be able to keep them all as if the fateful deadline of December 9th had not been violated.
The new dates that make taxpayers breathe
Let’s see concretely what is the new calendar envisaged by the Government and what are the deadlines for staying in order. All the installments that initially expired in 2020 must absolutely be paid by 30 April 2022. If you respect this last term you will be considered in good standing with the fiscal peace and there will be no further consequences. All installments relating to the 2021 must instead be paid by the deadline of July 31, 2022. Here, too, the above discussion applies: respecting this deadline will not incur any consequences and the benefits originally foreseen will be preserved.
2022 and fragility of the measure
As for the installments for this 2022, the deadline is November 30th. However, it should be remembered that also for these three dates there are five days of tolerance usually granted. But will these deadlines really be decisive? Not a few have doubts. The situation of Italian companies and VAT numbers is really critical with the continuous increases in the prices of raw materials and energy. Indeed, many are threatening to close and it may very well be that these new terms will not actually be as decisive as the government hopes.
