Chelsea’s buying spree really got a worthy end. In overtime of the transfer window, they secured Enzo Fernández (22) from Benfica.

Benfica writes in a statement that they have reached an agreement with Chelsea on the sale of Fernández for 121 million euros. Around NOK 1.3 billion.
In that case, it is a new transfer record for a Premier League club.
There will be a contract length of eight and a half years.
Many clubs are said to have been interested in Enzo, who played regularly in midfield Argentina, who won the World Cup in Qatar.
Enzo was named the championship’s “Best young player”.
The previous Premier League transfer record was Jack Grealish’s transfer from Aston Villa to Manchester City in 2021. Grealish cost the Manchester club around NOK 1.2 billion.
Chelsea have really opened their checkbook in the January window. Enzo Fernández is their eighth signing of this transfer window.
They have spent around NOK 3 billion in total. Where the second most expensive was Mykhailo Mudryk (22) from Shakhtar Donetsk. The Ukrainian cost around one billion kroner.
