SESTŘIH: Sparta is still 100%, fighting Dukla had no favorites

Midfielders Preciado and Kairinen started in Sparta’s starting line-up for the first time this season. Stopper Panák was once again on the home substitutes’ bench, whose captain’s armband was taken over by fellow Danish defender Sörensen.

Spartan Haraslín got the first shot already in the third minute, but goalkeeper Hruška stopped his attempt from the ground. The Slovakian representative did not shoot his compatriot even from a free kick in the 14th minute. After less than half an hour of the game, Haraslín shot over the goal. Hruška then dealt with Kucht’s header and Haraslín’s shot from the penalty area.

After the subsequent corner, however, the home team gained the upper hand. Hruška ran to Kairinen’s cross, but the ball did not hit and it went to the back post to Vitík, who made no mistake. The Czech representative followed up on the hit from the previous round in Teplice.

Even in the 55th minute, Haraslín did not break the shooting bad luck. Although he handled Ryneš’s cross in the penalty area, he headed over in a promising chance.

The home team continued to not let Dukla into anything, but they only added insurance in the 81st minute. After the substitute Laci’s corner, the visitors’ captain Peterka played in the goal with his hands, but the game continued. However, after the intervention of the video referee and the review of replays, the head referee Vokoun ordered a penalty kick, which Birmančević converted. The Serbian international scored the second competitive goal of the season. Letensi have the best attack in the league with eight goals.

Shortly after, Birmančević went for another shot, but narrowly missed. Not even substitute Krasniqi made his mark. In the “cauldron” setting, the home team “enriched” the match with fireworks. Friis’s men kept a clean sheet for the first time in the competition year.

Birmančević was not mature enough for Dukla’s goalkeeper this time.

Sparta did not find a winner at home in the top competition for the 20th game in a row. Another 100% team in the league year is Pilsen, but they played one less game.

Dukla did not follow up on the previous 1:0 home win over Bohemians 1905 and has not won away in the league for 13 matches. The return to Letná, where he worked as a coach for a short time, did not work out for coach Petr Rad.
