SESTŘICH: Awakened Baník destroyed Liberec in the second half

From the start, the match at the heated stadium suffered from the enormous heat, also from the football side. After only 20 seconds, he caught a back pass from a Liberec player to Ewerton’s own goalkeeper, but Bačkovský neutralized his attempt at a loop in the small area.

But after that, the football significantly decreased and the teams on both sides produced an unusually high number of losses. It was after one of them that in the 11th minute Hlavatý got a shot from 25 meters and the ball licked the post of Markovič’s goal. But the first half did not offer anything more interesting.

The quality of the game improved significantly after the break, mainly thanks to the home team. Ostrava coach Pavel Hapal moved Ewerton to the right side and Baník suddenly started to get into Slovan’s defense. And in the 48th minute after the break, Ewerton sent the ball behind the defense to a running Prekop, who turned it into a technical lob solo on the goalkeeper. In the competitive season, the Slovakian striker scored his third goal.

Ostrava came alive even more. Six minutes in, Ewerton latched onto the ball behind the big box and his pinpoint projectile rippled the net for the second time.

In addition, when the hot sun hid behind the clouds, Ostrava started to play excellent football on both sides. Liberec responded with three substitutions, but immediately survived another shot by Ewerton, who narrowly missed the back post from an angle volley.

The North Bohemians were also dangerous in the last quarter of an hour. Substitute Nyarko had a contact goal in the 76th minute, but Markovic neutralized his solo escape and cross shot. Immediately Ostrava responded, Kubala headed under the crossbar with his left foot, but Bačkovský also pulled off an excellent save.

Baník thus scored fully against Liberec after a streak of five games without a win. In addition, goalkeeper Markovič did not concede at home for the third time in the league season.
