Previously, PSSI announced that Shin Tae-yong was exposed to COVID-19 on Saturday (20/3/2021). The trainer from South Korea was caught exposed after carrying out the PCR test the day before, Friday (19/3).
After that, an acknowledgment came from the physical coach of the Indonesian National Team, Lee Jae-hong, who said that his colleague was in a pretty bad condition. Because the coach also has diabetes.
The conditions it makes Shin Tae-yong until admission to HCU for further treatment. So Gatot confirmed the news.
“As for the severity (Shin Tae-yong) I don’t know, but if he was taken to HCU I know. Because some sources told me,” said Gatot to detikSport.
PSSI is known to hold a recitation to pray for Shin Tae-yong’s recovery on Monday (22/3). However, no party from the PSSI explained the current condition of the former Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma coach.
The Korean Embassy in Indonesia intervened to handle the recovery Shin Tae-yong. PSSI also has no objection to the wishes of the Korean Embassy.
“If the embassy intervenes, it is normal, it is the same as when Indonesian athletes were managed by the embassy in England during the All England incident yesterday,” said Gatot.
“We don’t know the severity, because yesterday we were busy with the All-England. We just pray that he will get well soon,” he concluded.
