LMT Motorsport Academy crew Mārtiņš Sesks / Renārs Francis spent the first stage of the Latvian Rally Championship “Samsonas Rally” over the weekend, winning the first place in the 2WD class and the high eighth place in the overall standings, as well as the third place in the Latvian Rally Championship.

M.Sesks / R.Francis closed the first day of the “Samson Rally” as the second fastest crew among the front-wheel drive cars, conceding to the competitor in the world rally junior test race Sami Pajari / Marko Salminen by fifteen seconds.

The second day of the competition for the team started dynamically – here ahead, here again losing to S.Pajari / M.Salminen’s crew. The pace of both crews was fast and the fight was equal until the ninth stage, when the rival equipment did not pass. Therefore, at the end of the competition, coach Uldis Briedis did not allow M.Seskam / R.Francim to fall asleep on the competition track.

“This was the first race in which we made such extensive changes to the car’s regulations during the race. We changed the car springs and after each service area we tried to regain confidence and increase the pace. After the ninth special stage, we started our development training – we experimented with regulations more safely and were already preparing for future competitions. We made sure that our “Ford Fiesta Rally 4” is responsive to regulatory changes and adapts to different driving styles. In general, we gained a lot of new information in the race to improve both driving equipment and car regulations, and we can safely move to the top of the world junior rally championship, ”comments the pilot of the LMT Motorsport Academy. Mārtiņš Sesks.

After two weeks M. Seska / R. The French crew is scheduled to start in the second qualifying stage of the Latvian Rally Championship – “Rally Liepāja”, which will be followed by the qualifying stages of the World Rally Championship in Estonia (September 4-6), Germany (October 15-18) and Sardinia (October 29 -1).
