On Friday afternoon, a 51-year-old Pinzgauer fell three meters while loading, the Salzburg police reported. A rescue helicopter brought him to the UKH Salzburg.
The 51-year-old from Pinzgau was busy unloading sawn timber from a truck trailer with a lifting crane, the Salzburg police wrote in a broadcast. He positioned himself on the topmost timber load behind the driver’s cab and controlled the lifting crane from there with a remote control. When he tried to lift a load of wood over the truck, he was hit by the truck and knocked to the ground from a height of about three meters. The 51-year-old suffered an open lower leg fracture and was taken to the Salzburg accident hospital by the rescue helicopter.
